Hi, I'm Joey Cooper

I’ve spent the last seven years designing technology in various spaces, ranging from journalism, to SaaS applications in automotive digital retailing, virtual health, federal consulting, and healthcare capital planning. The majority of that time has been spent leading usability and user experience for small to medium-sized organizations. Through those experiences I’ve learned to work efficiently, operationalize design practices, and mentor those I have the privilege to serve. I’m a relational leader with the heart of an advocate. I have an insatiable appetite for learning and growing those around me. I’m a big-picture thinker that loves diving into the data to create change, whether it be to improve design processes or user experiences.

Through those experiences, I’ve learned how to work efficiently on tight budgets, be resourceful, and be a little scrappy to do whatever needs to be done to operationalize design practices while getting product out the door on tight deadlines. Whether that meant creating and rolling-out a design system, conducting usability testing on the latest feature, or overseeing design and implementation to standard by outsourced teams and resources. Each experience has helped shape me into the well-rounded product designer I am today.

When I’m not working, you can find me at the local brewery with my dog Bubba, or playing bass guitar in my church worship band. You can find my work on Dribbble or Behance, and check out my blog for a glimpse into my process and the way I think. Download my resume above, or send me a note directly using the link below.
